I received this book as an ARC and I went in kind of blind, not knowing much of anything about the series, but the blurb caught my attention. I was not at all disappointed. In fact I liked this book so much I bought it. I’m going to get the one preceding it and I’m really looking forward to Xander’s story in the next book.This is the story of Damon and Keira. Damon is a mafia boss and Keria is an innocent who is thrown into his life. Keria’s brother worked for Damon, who promised him he would protect her if anything ever happened to him. Keira’s brother is murdered, she is threatened and seeks the aid of Damon. And the story evolves from there.Will Damon protect her? Should she trust this mafia boss with her life? Is she safe with Damon at all? Find out by reading this book. You won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended.
This is the 2nd book in the Mafia romance Series. Convict Me was the 1st book & we meet Damon-briefly -in this book. Damon is Hero's Boss & your first impression of him is that he's a cold hearted Monster & Boss. He owns a Strip Club & runs it with an iron fist. The Heroine of Protect Me is Keira-she goes to Damon for protection when her brother Leo is murdered. Unbeknownst to her, Leo was one of Damon's crew & paid for Keira's education. Leo told Keira to go to Damon if she needed help. Apparently Leo was stealing money from Damon's brother Xander-an even more evil person than Damon. Damon offers Keira his protection & the story takes off from there. We find out that Xander & Damon had a damaged relationship with their Father & they must join together in order to save themselves. Looking forward to the next book in this Series-Keep Me-which is Xander's story.
This book is more then I thought it would be, Damon surprised me every time I turned to a new chapter, Cassandra you were right about me giving him a chance the depths that he went to keeping Kiera safe every thing he did he did for her. First he's a complete A** then he sees what he has, I can't go into more because of spoilers, lets just say this book will have you falling in love with anti heroes. Xanader is something else keeping that one huge secret from Damon could have gotten his little brother killed. Are little h grew a backbone lets see if she needs it in the next book concerning the deadly secret.
Keira finds her brother dead with a note saying will come back for you. She seeks help from a ruthless man who will give her protection for something in return. SEX. This book was a roller coaster ride from beginning to end. The characters were great and the storyline was even better! Would definitely recommend to read!
Loved Damon from Convict Me and love him even more after his story. The chemistry between him and Keira could set the sheets on fire!
Protect Me is a vicious whirlwind that left me numb and shocked. I wasn’t prepared for any of this intense and delightful storyline that left me battered and scarred by the end. Don’t get me wrong, this story is truly wonderful, but it will not let you get away without being touched by its danger, mystery, and passion. I held my breath the entire time just waiting for the axe to fall on my head, but instead I found more heart than I ever imagined. You never know what kindness and compassion can bring forth in another person until you give it a chance. They can transform even the blackest of hearts to something indescribable.Keira’s watches helplessly as her warm and caring world falls apart and morphs into something cold and foreign. All she has is rely on is her brother’s word that she will be taken care of. Carefully, she takes her first steps into a new world where mercy is unheard of and justice comes at the hands of those who hold the most power. She walks in wearing her heart on her sleeve and fear in her eyes. Damon is the king of his domain, and nothing is off limits to him. When Keira stumbles into his office and his life, he knows she will upend more than just his schedule. Her very presence resets his thinking and jump starts his heart. They didn’t know how to deal with the other making such a huge impact on their otherwise well-defined life. Above all, they knew they couldn’t walk away because their heart wouldn’t let them. I love how they slowly but surely gave into their heart’s desire while keeping the other safe and protected. The heat and passion was off the charts, and I love how protective they were of each other. It made my heart soar and sing for joy!JL Beck is a fabulous author who knows how to touch my heart deeply with her stories while I sweat through her marvelous heat! Cassandra Hallman is a perfect complement to Beck and her extraordinary masterpieces. These authors ripped my heart from my chest and barred every part of my soul to the dark while allowing a small piece of hope to take root and transformed this hardened world to unspoken revelations. This is a fantastic series that should not be missed! Picked up the first book right now.
In the previous book of this series (Convict Me), we met Damon, now we get to know his story (although you probably don't need to have read the previous book). Keira came home to find her brother Leo murdered, and she has to escape, Leo told her if something happened to him to go to Damon Rossi and he would protect her. Although she starts to doubt it, when she rocks up the given address and it's a strip club, and even further when she meets Damon, but the moment Keira comes into Damon's life things start to change for Damon. Can Damon keep her safe? Or is he more dangerous than the people out to get her? Keira is too soft for Damon's world, but he wants her anyway, how far is he willing to go to keep her? I loved this romance with it's touches of darkness and danger, I felt for Keira and the bad hand she has been dealt and I loved her spirit that she displays to the dangerous Damon. I loved Damon, even though he is a man with much blood on his hands, the glimpses of who he is that he shows to Keira drew me into the story more (and made me hungry for more on him). I'm looking forward to the next one in the seriesI am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.
