There were fun things I've never heard of, such as the "monster" number, and the obscure mysteries of Pi number (and that is not for ' private investigator'). The one sentence in the whole book which struck me as rock bottom canyon floor truth for all the fun with numbers (which was steadily melting into the sea of mystic floor), was when Hand said out-loud that there was "something about books". " Yigghhh! cries the indigent Indian who believes in dreams!"(my quote). Something about books, eh? At least one other reviewer in amazon review replied with a tale of a book which travels back to its original owner. Does this book have volition? Is it always meaninglessly coincidental when these things happen, Mr. Hand, per your improbability model? You mostly seem to be implying that it is meaningless, though that one sentence gives your sentiment away...."There is something about books." Indeed there is. And there is something about visions of angels which appear to people in distress, or people who might serve as rescuers. Well, unfortunately, this book only reaches about one quarter of its audience, and maybe those who are 50% scientist and 50% mystic.

Pure chance has wild swings in fortune for casino gamblers.A blackjack player comes upon the simplest card counting method of all time; he studies goes to the casino and loses session after session --- about 10 in a row. The card counting system must not work. No, not really. Pure chance has wild swings in fortune for casino gamblers.I can go on and on. Wild streaks; wild wins and wild losses occur in casinos; they occur all the time. Why is that so? This book will explain it all.Are there advantage players in craps and blackjack (and video poker and poker and Pai Gow Poker)? Yes. But the proof of the pudding is not a few wild streaks even if those streaks are seemingly mind-boggling. I enjoy trying to understand the world around me, and this book helped me do that.Hand rattles off the names of a ton of principles and rules (too many in my view), but still I was able to take away some of the over-arching themes for which I think he was going: that our intuition is often wrong; that our inability to understand the basics of risk, chance and probability sometimes lead us to make bad choices because we under-estimate the risks of some things and over-estimate the likelihood of others.As Hand points out, this might not have far-reaching consequences when deciding whether to spend a few bucks buying a lottery ticket. But our inability to grasp basic statistics can have life-changing consequences: whether to have a second medical test performed before plunging forward with serious treatment or whether a jury convicts someone.This was a very interesting read. If this is "statistics for dummies," as some reviewers here have derisively called it, then I'm a dummy who is a little less dumb after reading the book!

The Dark Hunter Ultimate coloring book is FINALLY here! I'd pre-ordered it 10 months ago back in November of last year. Well worth the wait for such beautiful art!The cover is exactly as shown in the picture above, but this book is NOT in hardcover as described but softcover. I will upload the back cover and some inside art for you to see. The pages are standard 8.5 x 11 inches and the coloring book has 46 drawings for you to color in. I happy to say that this book has a better binding to it than the previous Dark Hunter coloring books released by Dabel Brothers. Those were simple staple-bound books, while this one looks like an actual book professionally bound. There is one drawing per page and the back (page opposite the drawing) shows the Dark Hunter symbol and tells you the name(s) of the character(s) in the drawing. There was some mention on Dabel's facebook page a while back about better quality pages for people who color with markers like I do rather than color pencils, but the pages in this book are not any thicker and are the standard quality pages. So if you plan to color with markers, I'd recommend putting a scrap page behind it to protect any color ink from seeping onto the next drawing.As for the art itself, it is beautiful. Two drawings are of Simi from Mikro Chasers in that more anime/cartoony style, but the majority are by Mel Joy San Juan whose art style is featured on the cover. Most of the art is new, but for those who follow Dabel Brother's Facebook page, you'll recognize several of the drawings as they have been uploaded there previously, like Ash with his kids, Apollymi, Ash, Styxx, and Zarek. I have the first 2 Dark Hunter coloring books that Dabel released, and the only drawings in this book that were also in those are a couple of Falcyn, Illarion, & Blaise. For those of you who ordered the Aceron comic book, a few of those drawings are in here as well.Very happy with this purchase! I can't get enough seeing characters from Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter world illustrated. Definitely recommend to all DH fans! I apologize for my photos being too dark and sometimes blurry. This short review is based on the artwork contained within the covers of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter Ultimate Coloring Book.Just like with Dark-Hunter Coloring Book #1, which I reviewed earlier, Dabel Brothers Publishing has done a big favour for fans and Menyons (die-hard fans) of Sherrilyn Kenyon by publishing this beautiful coloring book based on her Dark-Hunter series of urban fantasy novels with paranormal romance elements. In this coloring book, fans of the series will see many of their favourite characters presented in beautiful and detailed drawings that bring them to life. Although this coloring book will perhaps mostly interest fans of Sherrilyn Kenyon's stories and novels, I think it will also interest readers who appreciate high quality artwork and enjoy coloring urban fantasy-inspired drawings.Because there may be readers out there who are not familiar with the Dark-Hunters, I'll mention a few words about them:The Dark-Hunters are immortal warriors who sell their souls to the Greek goddess Artemis for an Act of Vengeance against the one who murdered them. Once they had their revenge, they were dedicated to defending mankind against Daimons and other preternatural enemies. There are also Dream-Hunters, Were-Hunters and Hellchaisers. More information can easily be found on the internet.I don't normally review this kind of books, but I feel that the high quality of this coloring book is good enough a reason to review it. The artwork is beautiful and stunningly detailed, which is something that can't be said about many coloring books. I'm not an expert on coloring books, but I've noticed that certain coloring books feature bad and inferior artwork, which is one of the reasons why people should steer away from them. Fortunately, this coloring book is an exception among adult coloring books and people should, despite their possible prejudices towards coloring books, take a look at it.Because I've always found beautiful drawings and fine art captivating, I was impressed by the detailed artwork. All the body parts and physical attributes of the characters are magnificently highlighted in the drawings, but nothing is overdone. The animals and creatures also look gorgeous.Some of the drawings have an erotic feel to them, because they feature enticing eroticism that appeals to many readers who appreciate sensual art. The tiny details highlight the erotic nature of the drawings in a mesmerising way. Although there's eroticism in the drawings, everything has been done with good taste, because the artwork indicates respect towards the source material.As many of us are aware of, coloring books are not just for children anymore, because many adults have noticed that coloring black and white drawings is fun and surprisingly relaxing, because it has stress-reducing qualities. This coloring book offers people an excellent opportunity to take a break from what they're doing and gives them something beautiful to look at (whether you're a fan of coloring books or not, you'll find something to love in this book).My final words are:Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter Ultimate Coloring Book is an excellent coloring book with high quality artwork. I wanted to give this three stars because there are about 14 pages that is either just Acheron or has to do with him. Just want to point out that even though Ash is pretty important to the series there are so many other characters. That disappointed me. What made me go with a 4 was the great pic of Savitar. There are more characters than just Acheron and Styxx !!!!

If you love the Dark Hunters then this would be a great piece to add to your collection.

It is great bringing to life some of my favorite Sherrilyn Kenyon characters. I have been addicted to her writing for at least a dozen years now. I introduced them to my son and fir the first time in his life he was interested in books! This book was a gift for him and he loves it.

great artwork to color and being one sides it would work for alot of different mediums.

Pictures are great. However description says it's a hardback. This is not a hardback. Was very disappointed in that fact. Like the pictures.
