I have always learned best by using flash cards so I found this very useful. I ended up tearing the cards from the spiral binding and cutting the loose ends so I could use them as actual flash cards. That also enabled me to separate the cards I knew very easily from the more challenging ones. Some people complain that the paper is thin compared to actual flashcards, which is why I gave it 4 stars. But I guess its better than costing more $$$.
Rita's flashcards don't skimp - 704 pages (352 cards). They are organized like Rita's book; by knowledge area. They are compact enough to carry around and review during meals, downtime or while traveling. Just put a rubber band over the flashcards to keep them together. I even took these on vacation. You can brush up in as little or much time as you'd like. I used cut up sticky notes to mark the cards I was unsure of and then would review those topics in Rita's book. I knew I was ready to sit for the exam after I thinned out the sticky notes. The flashcards really allowed me to sneak in study time when finding time was sometimes a struggle. Although not included in the flashcards, I would highly recommend playing the process game in Rita's book. It's well worth cutting out the squares in Chapter 3 and practicing; especially the order of the planning process group.
The prep book is great but this "flash card" product is not. It's a mini flip chart with questions that often have lengthy answers. Very hard to read font, flimsy paper, poor quality. Not what you expect from flash cards. I did not find this product useful and barely used it. Just read the book thoroughly, that was sufficient. Passed exam on first try, book was excellent.
Do not expect to be a complete book quality, with a lot of information. It is a Flashcards books. It has the quality necessary for it purpose and it is only effective if you use it to memorize key aspects about PMP exam, after reading the PMBOK and also the book for PMP by the same author.I used only these 3 books and I passed on the first try.
Top quality information hindered by poor quality of publication substrate. Ultra difficult to read font.
I've been studying for the exam now for almost six months and this might just be the material to get me over the hump. It is filled with good explanations of various terms, and covers all the knowledge areas and process groups. A good source to take with you on short or long trips to continue studying for the exam.
I passed the exam the first time with using Rita's products and this was one of them. I recommend reading her book first and then use these to help see how much you know the material. The only reason I didn't rate all 5 stars is I wish these were multiple choice questions, otherwise still a great product and helped me pass the exam.
I did not like them. It was like trying to read through random, fragmented factoids. A more targeted approach would be to make your own flash cards based upon Appendix A of the PMBOK.
