The book on Charles Wesley is an excellent book, presenting Charles Wesley's thought. Those of us who study "Wesley" normally are studying John Wesley, not his brother Charles. For me this was a good read because I have read and written about John, but not Charles.He gives plenty of examples of the thinking and theology of Charles as well as quotes from many of his poems. The book takes you through the life of Charles and his many battles, both theologically and organizationally with the development of the Methodist Church.This is a book to keep in your library.J. This is thoroughly researched and well written. Charles Wesley would be a valued friend or an irritating acquaintance. He was warm in friendship, but he also could be an unbending Tory. He was truly a man of the 18th Century. However, he had a spiritual side transcending that.
